Porch Dreams

I am having porch dreams. Dreams of painting furniture, adding flowers in baskets, tall glasses of sweet tea, and warm days. Absolutely itching to get outside and play on the porch!

We live in an old farmhouse and have a side porch. It was empty, no furniture, and in need of some attention. February days cause my mind to think about projects for the house. I decided that I wanted pink furniture on this porch.
Last year, I was able to get the furniture in place, I chose to challenge myself to create what I wanted instead of purchasing something. My handy husband helped me! He made a bench from an old headboard, a coffee table from an old pallet and a potting bench from some old decking boards. It was a start.
There are bigger and better plans for this year. I want to make pillows and add more decorations, but want to keep the theme of using what I have or can pick up at yard sales for this porch. There is much to do, but I welcome the challenge!

    1. No it is a coffee table. The bench was made out of an old headboard. Just not the greatest pic!

  3. We have a side porch as well. I'd love for it to be covered...and I'd love to have furniture out there! We recently had a cover installed over our front porch, and the labor was free and the person just did this for us...but it was poorly done. So while it does keep the scorching hot TEXAS sun off of us...it does NOT keep the rain off. It's kind of pointless during wet weather.

As for your furniture...i love the soft pink. I also like using what you have to make an area comfy and cozy.

    1. Thank you Pat! This porch is kind of an odd porch, must have been a sleeping porch at one time. The space was there, so I decided to use it! I liked the idea of soft pink for the furniture, the only money that I have invested is what I paid for the paint.

  5. I love your porch. I wish I had one like this! Thanks for following my blog:) I have gone through your blog and I am following you now. I saw your sweet GiGi. I had a Yorkie who was 1.5 lbs--Itsy Bitsy was his name. I have his daughter now but she is 15 years old.

I love your country blog--so different from most of the blogs I follow. I love it! I look forward to getting to know you.

My grown daughter has a pet bunny that runs all over the house. He thinks he is human I think. She has a blog too.

    Have a great weekend!

  7. English houses rarely have porches which is such a shame because decking just doesn't have the same appeal to me. Mind you, we rarely get the weather to make good use of them either.Rx
