Backyard Garden

We worked in the backyard flower garden this past weekend. It is so dry here, I was afraid to spend the money on a lot of plants, so we only bought a few. We cleaned out the fountain, and plugged it in for the first time this year.

Guessing that Miss Mary has taken a stroll through the garden.

We can hear this fountain when we sit on the back porch, love that sound! There is a blue bird box near this garden, hoping for the blue birds to come back again this year. A cardinal watched us working, so I made sure that the bird bath had fresh water in it.

This rock had a cavity in it, so we filled it with dirt and put some Hen and Bitty in it. Love this plant, it is hardy and looks different when in flowers.

The Day Lillies are getting ready to bloom. A friend gave these to me a few years ago. I like them, but they multiply quickly!

The forecast calls for rain tomorrow, hopefully we will get lucky and get some rain. As you can tell from the picture below, the irrigation is running in the pecan orchards. The flowers would be so happy to get the rain. The plants are watered, but rain has a different effect on plants.

The clothesline is ready for use, just have to wait for a good rain to wash away the pollen dust. Can hardly wait to smell the fresh laundry from the clothesline!
