Happily or sadly, depending on how you see it, I see potential and reuse in most things. The microwave cart below is one of those things. The drawer was missing, it was brown, and a large hole had been punched in the back. Perhaps one day I will remember to take before pictures.
We did not need a microwave cart, but we needed more storage. This cart fit that need. It was also free, a very affordable price!
The cart was still useable, just not pretty, My handy husband put a piece of wood where the missing drawer was, creating a shelf. The cart was painted and contact paper was used on the new shelf and the back panel, covering up the ugly hole. This is the contact paper and paint that was used on the other shelves in the laundry room. Those items were purchased for the purpose of recreating the laundry/pantry.
The cart sits between the 2 shelves. We are considering installing shelves above this cart. Those shelves would hold small appliances such as the bread maker and fryer. Slowly, but surely the pantry is coming together.
