Enjoying a Screened Porch

We have been able to spend a little time on the screened porch.

My herbs are on this porch, love the way they smell when I water them!

There was a set of dishes at the thrift store that practically begged to come home with me. There was no choice, I had to bring them home and put them in the hutch.

The same day, I found this at a discount store. I loved what it said, that is what we want to happen to new guests. They may enter as strangers, but we want them to leave as friends!

We have entertained a couple of times on this porch now. It is a great place to relax, enjoy the company of friends and of course a large glass of iced tea!

  1. What a nice, inviting place. Anybody I am sure would just love to sit and visit with you for awhile.... and leave as a friend.

  2. Hi Melanie, I've been reading several of your previous posts in order to catch up with you. I am so sorry to hear about your brother and I hope he is steadily recovering. Glad you now have a little more time to enjoy your porch. Having your herbs so handy means you will probably use more of them. I have to walk out to our garden to get mine! Making sweet tea for the day is one of the things I do early in the morning, except I have to use artificial sweetener because Leo has Type 2 diabetes! Nothing like porch time in the summer!

  3. A screened porch is SO nice! My childhood home had one, and I have lots of fond memories of being out there during the summer. (As a child, it was especially nice on rainy days, when we couldn't actually play outside!)

  4. Hi Melanie, a screened in porch just speaks summer time!! Your space looks so cozy and inviting. Lovely to entertain friends and enjoy a tall glass of ice tea. I love the little welcome sign you found. What a treasure that is. Gives me some inspiration for a painting.

    Have a great weekend.
    Hugs

  6. I love screened in porches. I had one in the old house but I seemed to be the only one that used it. It was up a split foyer so it was up higher than ground level and I had a tree growing right next to it. You thought you were in a tree house. I miss that porch.
